Dual Stereo Speakers Setup Question

(1/2) > >>

jdfriesen:
Hello all,

First by way of introduction, I was registerd WAY back on the old boards, but due to not having any space for a cabinet, sort of stopped browsing and posting.  However, I now DO have space.

I've collected just about all the arcade hardware that I need, however, I've got a sound card question.  I'm building a cocktail cabinet, and want to have stereo sound on each end of the cabinet.  So, can anyone recommend a sound card to me that will supply essentially 2 duplicate stereo outputs?

Thanks for your time,
John Friesen

GadgetGeek:
Just use two sets of matching speakers and a headphone splitter plugged into your soundcard.  Should work just fine that way.

Well, don't I feel stupid now, lol.  Sometimes the easiest solutions are the best ones.  Thanks for pointing my brain in the right direction GadgetGeek.

does doing this half the power output of one set of the speakers?

I wouldn't think so, as long as your using powered speakers.  Of course, I'm more than willing to be corrected if I'm wrong! ;D
