Daisy chaining joysticks?
« on: Yesterday at 06:19:10 pm »
Hello, i am building a 4 player panel with 5 joysticks. 4, 8 way joysticks and 1 4 way joystick. I am using an ultimarc ultimate io. Where can I connect the 4 way joystick? I have read other post on here and reddit that say to splice it with player 1 stick. I am trying to not have to splice wires. I am trying to find Y spade adapters, but all I can find are 6.3mm spade connectors and I need 4.8mm. Is there an easier way to connect it? Is there a single joystick encoder usb board? Thank you for the help.

Try looking for 0.187" or 3/16" QDs (imperial) -- the same size as 4.8mm. (metric)
- They might not be in your local big box hardware store, but you'll definitely find them on Amazon.

Option 1: Use wire that you already have and these QDs to make Y-splitters.

Male 0.187" QDs - https://www.amazon.com/Baomain-Insulated-Connector-Electrical-Terminal/dp/B01N2P81IC/?th=1

Female 0.187" QDs - https://www.amazon.com/Conext-Link-QDVF-187R25-Disconnect-Terminal/dp/B01LMMCA84/?th=1

Option 2: Use the male QDs and two pre-crimped wires with 4.8mm QDs to make Y-splitters.

Pre-crimped wires - https://www.amazon.com/Generic-Terminal-Insulating-Connector-Assortment/dp/B0FSQYWXCY

Option 3: If you want to avoid crimping QDs, you can cut off the QD on the encoder wire and use a euro-style terminal strip to connect the encoder wire to two pre-crimped wires with 4.8mm QDs to make Y-splitters.

Euro-style terminals - https://www.amazon.com/Meimom-Terminal-Connector-12-Position-Electrical/dp/B0D4DFFWBF/?th=1

You can cut between the terminals so you don't waste the unused terminals.

----------------
Wire the 4-way and 8-way stick in parallel like this with four Y-splitters.
- When lines cross, a dot = connected and no dot = not connected.
