Another Arcade Emulator (AAE) on Windows 10
« on: May 07, 2025, 03:49:14 pm »
Hi,

I am trying to run AAE emulator (Another Arcade Emulator) on Windows (https://segaretro.org/AAE).
On Windows 11 Pro x64 it runs perfectly well on first try.
On Windows 10 Pro x64, app closes immediately.
I tried :
- checking logs
- changing compatibility mode
- running as admin
- installing Visual C++
- installing .NET 3.5
- checking windows dumps
- checking windows event (only tells me that I get an error 0xc0000005, which is vague cause it's something hardware from my pc, that runs perfectly normally, fresh install, all drivers are good and all is fine)
- checking process with ProcMon
- playing with DxWnd (this one is too complex for me, the best I was able to do was to have the aae.exe not close, but nothing happens)
- adding opengl32.dll from MESA.

I tried several stuff, but always get to same result : aae.exe closes immediately and can't run the emulator when on Windows 10 Pro (I need to stay on Win10).

Anyone managed to make it work or knows what can I check ?

Thanks a lot
