I-PAC Ultimate - Mode switch on command line
« on: November 27, 2024, 11:46:48 am »
Hi guys,

I'm running 2x IPAC Ultimates. Sadly it won't change modes, neither through WinIPAC's GUI, nor through the command-line. I can switch back to Keyboard, but when I try to load my DInput profiles it will either just stay in Keyboard mode (but with different key / button configs loaded), or it will switch to XInput instead of DInput (that's when I save the default IPC from mode #2 DInput).

Any help here? Would really need to be able to switch modes through command line, that's one of the biggest reasons I went with this setup.

Thanks
LQ

Had this issue before (wouldn't switch at all), so I flashed both modules with 1.56 - and am now experiencing the issues with not being able to switch with command line or profile loading in the GUI.

Andy sent me an email to check if my DInput profile has *any* keys in it, which would make it fail to switch. So I'll check that next once I get home from work.

I've never been able to get this to work consistently.

I just hold the SHIFT button and press whatever button to select the mode I need.

Not really an option for me. I want automation from top to bottom, I don't want to relay the responsibility of selecting the correct profile to the end user.

After talking to Andy again, he told me if a Profile has a HOME button it will switch to XInput. So after removing the HOME button mapping from my DINPUT profiles, it's switching correctly now (on both boards individually) between KB and DINPUT modes.

Next I'm gonna hopefully be able to switch both boards at the same time consistently. I'll report back.

Works. I can easily switch between both modes on both modules now.

My batch file waits for the commands to finish before moving to the next, and the ID2 is being targeted first, to avoid any potential misidentification during mode-switching.
