Power button for Dell Optiplex 3020
« on: April 22, 2024, 12:51:10 pm »
Has anyone successfully added an arcade button to power on/off a Dell Optiplex 3020? I’m stuck.

Can't you just wire a pushbutton to the pins on the motherboard?

I’m not an expert. But this is what I’m going to use. Basically open your computer up and replace the existing power switch with this. Then install on the cabinet somewhere.

The 3020 uses a proprietary power lead that is smaller than a typical DuPont connector. You can get an adapter to use a regular power button from here: https://store.harbinrepairs.com/index.php/product/dell-optiplex-390-3010-3020-front-panel-header-adapter-3pc-kit/

I do have the ultra small form factor optiplex 3020 if that matters.
