Still here.  Haven't built a cab in something like a decade, but I'm still here.

I'm definitely not new, but I'm still building, or at least innovating. This hobby keeps on getting more interesting.

Bobby's fresh attitude definitely helps.
Check out my completed projects!

I am converting my steel storage barn into a full shop.

36' x 54'

2 post lift for cars and trucks.

Full wood shop.

3 electronics workbenches.

Game storage.

I had my yearly Centuricon a couple of weeks ago.

Arroyo and Bperkins01 came down for the week.

On that Friday, a bunch of arcade nerds came out and spent the day fixing stuff.

Someone brought their Canyon Bomber PCB and we fixed that.

We took a barn find, 100 percent dead Sega Turbo and got it 99 percent working. There is a minor graphical glitch that still needs fixing.

We worked on Monitors.

We drank beer. We played games. One of my buddies brought his pizza oven and made pizzas for everyone.

Capped it off with a visit one day to another arcade nerds house to do repairs.

Another day we visited an arcade nerd with like 70 games in his arcade room.

Spent that day playing games and working on his Major Havoc and his Star Wars cockpit.

I didn't advertise here because I guess I was discouraged that none of you guys ever show up when I do.

You are really missing out.

Hey Ray! I don't do much, but I mostly build and resell - sold 3 Donkey Kongs last year, and just sold this Galaga cocktail which is going in someones Air BnB. It's a Space Invaders cocktail cabinet that I converted. I did one like this in 2008 as well.

I'm just here for James's  PCB hacking. PL1's posting/moderation did this place no favors but everyone's tired of me saying it so I'll stop.

Boy that Arcade 1up section is just absolutely bustling with activity.

I haven't built anything in years, I did make 2 with kits from Haruman , a MsPac for my mom and a plain white vert for me. I'm still slowly working on my race cab, but I enjoy being a father more than working on it. Its very likely to be given away soon/trashed.  I got into pinball for a bit but I don't make enough money for that hobby.  I still have a tiny dust covered arcade in my basement but that is only because I can't will myself to get rid of ---steaming pile of meadow muffin--- for some reason.
If you're replying to a troll you are part of the problem.
I also need to follow this advice. Ignore or report, don't reply.

Kidding aside I work on stuff... it's just the finishing part I have problems with.   Currently working on a virtual pinball cab.... it's about 85% there except for the finish work.   Racing cab still needs a good set of pedals but that's next year's project.  Honestly the site itself keeps me from posting project updates.  I'm too lazy to use the icloud app in windows to download all my project pics to post them and the site isn't very readable on my phone.   Complain complain.

I see a lot of those arcade1ups on ebay and facebook sellers.
I never bought one, did test drive a donkey kong that walmart had on display.
Most asking prices I see are very close to the store prices, I dont see how they can get that. Unless they are collectables now??

I check in occasionally. I had big plans to buy another house that had room for my hobbies. I have so many plans! But the cancer came back, and I took time off work and burned through my savings, and now that the cancer is gone (won for the second time! Better not be a third...) I have gotten the long covid so bad I struggle moving around. That's how exhausted I am. And this is probably because of the cancer treatments weakening my immune system! Cancer ruins everything. It's a ruiner.

You definitely didn't play Donkey Kong, as none of the Nintendo games have made it to A1up yet.

Much to the dismay of some, there is a large group of A1up owners. The larger user base has injected the market and caused lots of things to happen - some good, some bad. I bought a reproduction Star Wars yoke for $150 and it's great. I suspect that market will burst and we'll be flooded with A1up's.

Yeah, probably wasnt Donkey Kong then. Maybe pacman or ms pacman??? Its been awhile and since memory is not the first thing to go, it does go. LOL.
The arcade 1Ups had just came out. I wasnt overly impressed with it.

Every so often the nostalgia strings pull at me and I drop back in. Joined in Feb 2003. Boy how the time flies.

I just rebuilt almost everything in my main mame cab, and after ALL of that, the monitor popped. So tripped at the finish line, so that will wait for the new year. It's crazy that a huge arcade cabinet was one of the items I just HAD to move 3000 miles from the east coast to the rocky mountains, especially when we hadn't really used it since the kids were young. But glad I did, and was actually enjoying really sitting down and playing some of the old classics for score. Until the poppage that is.

Back for nostalgia, based on nostalgia.

I'm not here... But maybe you'll catch me there...

I haven't owned an arcade machine in many years. Very rarely I'll fire up MAME on my living room TV and play with the ZD Invader fight stick I built out of scrap. Pretty sure that's the only thing I have left from my building days. I play Sega Genesis when PBJ yells at me. I do have 4 pins though. Picked up 2 NIB machines this year, TNA and a P3 with Final Resistance. So I've got that going, which is nice.

Find me at Zapcon 9, challenge me to a 2 player game on any pin, beat me and earn yourself some old timey BYOAC swag. Lose... well just try again.

If you can be buried with a Arcade Cabinet of your choice, which cabinet would it be ?

For me, it will be Space Invaders or Asteroids Cabinet and I'm gonna ask to throw in my C64 :)

I had a birthday party, and most of my friends are women. I said that the ONE THING I wanted to do was play 18 holes of Golden Tee. Instead, they all sat around chatting and I was neglected. I scheduled another party and said if they don't want to play, don't show up, and if they do but don't play I will toss them out. They all came back, and now are obsessed with golden tee, shuffleshot, and ramp'n'roll, as well as trying to beat high scores on games they've never played. So it worked out, now everyone wants to come by all the time and game!

I'm still here, still have my two cabs, one 99% done, the other 89%. Which is probably how it'll stay. no more cabs because I keep starting other projects I never finish.

Man, my cocktail cab is about 20 years old now 😲. Haven't played it for a couple of months. A friend comes over sometimes and we have a few drinks and hammer just one game- Bank Panic 🙂

Bank Panic on a cocktail is the best way!

In 1985 I used to regularly play Bank Panic on a cocktail, with a mate, at the Australian National University Union Student Bar in Canberra. Despite it being a "cocktail" table, we'd drink beer, schooners (385ml glasses) of Carlton Draught, while playing. Rebels without a clue. Tonnes of fun. We noted how our reactions turned to crap after the third beer - at which point we'd generally give up.

That was in my first year at university. We were both still only 17 for most of that year, so technically those beers were illegal. So bad!

We played Bank Panic and avoided the pool tables at the Uni Bar, despite wanting to play pool, because all the people there looked pretty rough and scary. However, by the second year, WE were the scary guys hanging around the pool tables  :o
Check out my completed projects!

I love Bank Panic.

I have a PCB.

I throw it in my JAMMA cab.

Some day I would like to have a dedicated Bank Panic cab.

I always thought Bank Panic would be a good candidate for an updated fan re-make.  Been hooked on the play mechanic since the first time I played.

Bank Panic is a game I never even heard of until MAME and it is an all timer for me now. Love that game.

There’s a really good and perhaps slightly better in some ways port on SEGA Master System.

I could do without Dixie but it is what it is.
