Guys I'm looking for a crystal oscillator
« on: March 07, 2022, 11:16:59 am »
Just as the sub says I'm looking for a 6.5mhz crystal oscillator standard 4 pin clock oscillator. I've looked thru all my pages like digikey and mouser and a few other ones but nobody has any. Do any of you fine gentleman have one and if so can I purchase it from you. It's fory fluke project I'm building and it's one of the few things I still need. Thank.

Not coming from a place of knowledge, but could you find one with more than 4 pins? Maybe I am assuming, but are the additional pins on something like a 6-pin oscillator just complimentary/optional pins?

it's surface mounted, but nothing a couple legs clipped off a cap can't fix.

Confused by this as well.  Most of not all 4-pin varieties have the two extra pins either as ground or n/c.  Digikey has several 6.5mhz options in the standard two pin package.

But if you really want to go crazy, get a 13mz and a flip-flop to divide it in half.  There's a ton of 4-pin(pad) options in that frequency.

2 pin...

Not sure your application though. The old school 4 pin ones should not be very different. I'd assume you could combine that with some reasonable component(s) to compensate for the lack of the other legs.
