Megatouch in mame - how to enter setup

I'm trying to access the setup for megatouch in mame. On a physical megatouch, you would press the setup button. Any idea how that works in Mame?

Been messing around and it seems I would need to throw some beefy hardware to make this work good. An older laptop didn’t cut it. The only thing I can’t quite fix is if a touchscreen monitor works like it’s supposed to. I can play with a mouse and cross hairs but I would like to use a touchscreen like I do with touchmaster games.

Is this feature disabled purposely? I enabled light gun in the mame.ini but that didn’t do it.

Haven't messed with them in a long time and never XL, but am following your progress with interest.

Maybe try enabling or disabling multimouse in mame.ini (or the individual game ini).

Will do, but from the reading I've been doing (and my own experimentation) it seems the 6XL version of Megatouch works great, but only with a mouse and not with touchscreen.

But hey! It's Megatouch - and the version I remember playing back in the day. It's been lots of fun, but I'd like to get touchscreen working.

I tried unsuccessfully to get a touchscreen working with this. I gave up

I enabled lightgun and multi-mouse in mame.ini with no effect. Weird how it works with the mouse and left clicking, but not with clicking on the screen. My problem is I don't have another touchscreen to try, to see if it's just a quirk with the one I have.

I'm going to look into buying a Windows based laptop, or a all-in-one with a touchscreen. I want to find one beefy enough that I can play these games, but I'd like to know if touchscreen is going to work or now.

What OS are you running? 

I was thinking there was a shift in windows with modern touchscreens to stop treating them as a mouse (to facilitate multi-touch). 
A quick google search brought up some people whose touchscreens quit working as mice in some programs after a windows 10 update. 

Of course MAME could also work differently than the last time I fiddled with it years ago.

I’m windows 10 on this machine with a touchscreen. It’s not enough horsepower. It runs great on my i7 with 32gb ram, but the Surface just doesn’t have enough umph. I’ll report back.
