Looking for some help whit monitor whining noise.
Nevermore:
Hey everyone.
I just purchase another arcade for my home, the pictur of the monitor is fine but i get a screeching whining noise.
I went and did some research and i found the culprit, i will attach a photo (if i can figure out how to do that 😂).
The arcade was made by a french manufacturer called n.style but for the life of me i cant find the manual pdf.
I already had another arcade monitor die on me and i had to replace it with a lcd monitor until i can find a suitable replacement, so i would hate to lose abother one.
Your help is greatly apriciated 😉😁

From what i have been able to deduce, this must be the with coil.
Its connected to a little board in front of it with a adjustment knob for the width.
So i went looking online and saw people mentioning putting a toothpick inbetween the core and the shell to keep it from oscilating.
The only probem i have is that the whole thing is shielded of by a plastic cover.
I tried to genty take of the cover, but it wasnt budging so i gigured to not force it.
I looked to see if i could reach it trough the bottom but i cant.
Does anyone have a idea that could work out?, i kinda bumed.
I kinda got burned on this arcade, but for what its worth i want to give it a second life but the thing really is a tottal hackjob.
If anyone has any toughts pleas let me know, and if you need more info or pictures i am more than willing to provide the info.
Cheers guys

That's the horizontal linearity coil. It has a magnet on top oriented for optimal linearity and glued. You need to desolder and clean the coil as a whole. Then brush some coil varnish on the winding, let it dry, mount the coil back on the chassis and hope the issue has gone or improved.

Allright, i could give that a shot.
I never desoldered anything in my life, but i think i have some spare parts laying around that i could do a testrun on.
I think its both soldered to the bottom and to the pod on the board next to it.
I am kinda skiddish when it comes to stuff like this, just dont want to make the problem worse then what i started outh with 😂.
