This is an idea that I've had bouncing around my head for quite a while.

After making this little Capcom Mini Cute bartop, I've wanted to make a full sized cabinet.

And I have been working on a little cyberpunk themed basement bar/home theater and it is currently without an arcade cabinet, despite having the perfect spot for one here:

Here's where the design stands currently:

I modeled it around a 23 inch 1440p monitor that I'm currently using.

I have an Ender 5 Plus, so theoretically, as it stands now it could be printed in 10 parts. but this is currently just a shell, with no consideration given to how it would be mounted.  I'm thinking I may end up making a wooden frame on the inside for stability.  I'd expect this is going to be a huge design undertaking but it's not impossible. Once done it would be cool to be able to share the files

I already designed the artwork for it, basically modified Astro City artwork.

I'd like to make it hug the wall a bit more. as it currently would stick out from the wall about 22 inches. Any feedback appreciated!

Okay, now that I photoshopped it into place I really really want to see this through.

Is that your actual basement?

Yeah.

Here's a pic from another angle showing a little of the 120 inch projector screen. I really need to try to take some proper photos.

I dig the ceiling treatment.
Relax, all right? My old man is a television repairman, he's got this ultimate set of tools! I can fix it.

That’s cool, I dig it.  Akira didn’t have a candy cab in it, though.

I used to work in a club that looked surprisingly similar.

Yeah. I put the stripper pole away....for now.

I decided to tilt it down a bit for control panel ergonomics then lobbed a few inches off the back. Now it's only 16 inches off the wall which is way less intrusive but now I feel like I have to redesign the bottom a bit.

Oh is OK, I'm retired these days anyway. Is a good idea to keep a pole handy though, in case of emergencies!

Don't throw out the disco ball!

Yeah, just level the bottom against the floor line, right angle from the wall

Yep. I did just that and leveled it flat with the ground. Also trying out a new shape to make better use of the space below the screen. I could still put a topper on top if I felt so inclined.  Thoughts on this design vs the other? I feel like it kind of loses a little of the candy cab charm.

Also also, turns out my cousin has an extra pony cab control panel laying around that he's going to let me use. It will so cool to incorporate that into the build.

Also designed a little coin slot to match the original cab. I figured I could make it into a pushbutton for coin up as kind of an homage.

Not a candy cab without upper marquee and speakers!

what's in the wall you are attaching it to?
remove the drywall and you can get almost 3 less inches sticking out and make it look truly built in.

If you are 3D printing it, are you planning on incorporating any of the swooping chamfer designs from the original Astro City cab?
