Monitor Sizing Help

Hi all!  I'm new to restoring arcades, but working on a project I put in the new projects area. I'm trying to figure out what best monitor to acquire and the cabinet has a unique space of 21" wide by 16" tall. I've done a couple 1UP mods and have used 4:3 dell ultrasharps for those, but I can't seem to find like a 25" 4:3 or anything like that. Thanks for any help!

The original screen size would have been a 27 inch 4:3 monitor. I would suggest finding CRT arcade monitor or TV to replace it with. If you must replace it with an LCD, measure the internal width of the cabinet, if it's 28 inches or more you should be able to fit a 32" LCD panel as mask off the sides for a 4:3 ratio.

The largest commonly-available, reasonably-priced (i.e. not the Eizo FlexScan S2133-BK or EV2730QFX), non-CRT 4:3 monitors were around 21" IIRC.

For a 25" or 27" display, looks like your options are CRT, masked-off widescreen, or a very expensive specialty monitor.

Find yourself an old 25 or 27" consumer tube and you will have a number of options to get it to work for you.

It is far easier these days with units like Zebidee's GreenAntz!

What's  Zebidee's GreenAntz?  Google isn't telling me much.
