IPAC 4

I have a 4 player control cabinet and an IPAC4. My understanding is that it only works with 4 players in keyboard mode, but that isn't compatible with most modern steam games as they don't let you map separate keys to different players. Does anyone know of a good way to get 4 players working with modern games, or do I need to buy another IPAC and put 2 and 2 on each separate IPACs?   

Also does mixed mode have issues if a game can use both keyboard and joystick? Some games switch automatically.
