Hello R-Typer
On my new cab iīm using a Radeon 7450 (has 3 ports, vga, hdmi, dvi) on dvi port i coulnīt have 15khz, only on vga, i already patched with 15khz, and i can confirm that on this card Bios works fine thru vga port.
So when i saw this post about those modified drivers, i was very exited, because some cores on retroarch people said that works better with vulkan, i just install a quick fix that i saw on that youtube channel , but seems that has no impact on performance doing that.
So that caucth my interest in test this new updated driver, with updated vulkan support.
Thanks Marcos

Hey Marcos, what are you trying to emulate and which emulator are you using?

I quickly googled Radeon 7450 and it seems that it doesnt support Vulkan at all.

Hello R-Typer
Ohh thatīs a penny, basicaly i was trying to get more performance from that card using a more updated driver, my ideia were on the pcsx2 and RPCS3, but with your discovery i think i will get no benefit installing those modded drivers, because my 7450 will not be on the list of vulkan support. Anyway will give a try installing those new drivers, just to see if i get any improvment.
Thanks a lot R-typer !

I tested vulkan with cemu and working with async shaders. I'll need to test opengl.

This should be pinned somewhere!

I installed the driver today and initially i was having some trouble with 640x480. I had to change vertical sync pulse in arcadeosd to get a distortion free signal, but i believe i had similar issues with calamity's driver, honestly can't remember, it's been a while since i updated. I use a VGA to S-Video adapter (vilena) so my setup is a little unusual. Anyways after figuring this out, everything is working great now!

Dreamcast through flycast emu under RetroArch works much better on my system with Vulkan. In OpenGL it's stuttering a lot when there is too much going on on screen but with Vulkan - buttery smooth. Dolphin and Duckstation are also running great with Vulkan

Great job, psakhis! .

Updating drivers for current GPUs would be nice but it's good to also consider the additional newer hardware support they're supposed to bring.

if Mr. C updated Emudriver now (up to RDNA 2 same architecture as the new consoles), the added GPUs on the list would all be of the meh 'interim' generations, even the current~newest RX 6000 series clumsily introducing the new features, is meh.
While the next will almost certainly be more accomplished both soft-and-hard-wise.
For us I think RDNA 3 GPUs will be like the R7 and R9 series of the future.

self-quoting a post that aged like milk, damn

in the end the 6600 is probably one of the most widespread 'affordable' modern GPUs these days

dunno what will become of lower end 7000 series to come but anyway the new generation is not very appealing, whether it's red or green team (or blue)

(except maybe if you're filthy rich and can afford a 4090 but that's none of our concern here)

anyway, if an Emudriver update is still on the scheduled future todo, it'd be good to include at least those 6000 series, after all.

the lower end 7000 series will probably be revealed in the coming months, but considering the wacky prices of new GPUs these days I bet no one'll be in a hurry for those

PS: probably inaccurate but recently i've read something about a chinese brand releasing a 6600 with DVI-I output (!)
i'll try to find a link to the article again.
