Magstick Plus *nevermind, solved*

Hoping someone with a Magstick Plus can give me some advice.
I recently bought one, along with the balltop addon. I'm now trying to install the balltop, but so far cannot figure out how to remove the battop.
I've tried very hard to loosen the nut at the bottom end, but so far no luck. I assume you need to remove that nut in order to install this stick as well.
I'm not very knowledgeable about different tools, but have been using a ratchet wrench.
Any help much appreciated.
The nut was on VERY tight. Finally got it. Now, reassembling things correctly is proving to be a bit odd, the 4way/8way switch is not working now. *sigh*

Tighten the nut up more.
If its to loose the actuator does not change properly when you try to switch it.

Ball tops are smooth, hence a piece of rubber on it would give grip, and then a socket or wrench on the nut. Yes, it needs to be tight enough - again - to provide switching functionality.
