In fact I've already herd conflicting reports...and this article and pic make it look a lot worse than I expected. First I thought it was suposed to have a gyroscopic tilt sensor, but from the picture they show a lightgun lens optic. I imagine the screen will be flickering, reading the position via normal lightgun methods. Next the article says that the "special sensor" only tells when your head is looking through the scope (a proximity sensor)...and just triggers the zoom funciton of the game (big freaking deal). The point of the arcade game is to use both eyes, one looking through the scope at the magnified picture, and the other looking at the wide shot to see everything else around your target.
Without a mini LCD in the gun, and without a tilt sensor (preferably on a stable base...otherwise it will be a b!tch to calibrate) there is no way this will replicate the real arcade expierence. I'm not usually the pessimist, but be prepared to be dissapointed.

You guys are a bunch of whiners. Its not perfect therefore it sucks?
Can't anybody ever be happy with a new product?
Act-labs tv guns look like ray guns so they suck, even though they are more accurate than any other gun, work on tv's, and the only one with support for 2 players. The prodigy top switchable joystick sucks because it has the wrong handle on it. The arcade VGA card costs to much and should be given away for free. The twisty grip spinner spins to well. The game cabinets yoke uses lame handles. Plans and software related to mame should also be free, let me change that no one should make any money off from anything related to mame.

Its not that its "not perfect", its just that its not what its advertised as being (leading to a lot of misconceptions). I'm all for manufacturers going out on a limb and trying to satisfy customer's fetishes...just as long as they don't try and pass it off as something its obviously not. Cashing in poor kids dreams of a real silent scope gun is just cruel marketing, sorry.

Saw the employees at the local Gamestop playing with this one last night. It's decently constructed (Three piece) with some nice features, auto-fire (not useful in SS, butin other light gun games), recoil (more on this later). The proximity sensor is a neat trick, but I didn't get to see it firsthand as they were using the gun to play House of the Dead III.
The recoil feature is SLOW and not powerful at all (I'm comparing to arcade Time Crisis guns as having an appropriate recoil, this was more like a dollar store machinegun toy). Other than that it's a fairly normal lightgun.
