Had an interesting time at Bar League Trivia

Ian:
So I do this Bar Trivia at this bar on Thursday nights. I like this bar for trivia because there is a wide variety of ages, it's not a young crowd by any means.

So the question was asked....

Category was Video Game.
Question, Name the game in which the player controls a knight and rides an ostrich and defeats other knights by colliding with them?

Easy answer for myself and one other team (there are 11 teams that particular night).

So the answer lady reads off Joust. The place goes crazy, not because they knew the answer and guest wrong, but because it was such a tough question. The table behind me consisted of 3 guys probably in their late 20's early 30's and they screamed "that was a Title"? (which side note, I think a good indicator for your age going forward. Some say "Games" and the younger generations refer to them as "Titles". A good marketing method for video game companies to make their video game sound more important than it actually is no less.)

Anyway at the end of the game, 2 first place teams had to have a tie breaker. "Name the date in which the game Joust was released...." one group submitted 2015 the other group said 2000. So clearly I was the only video game historic nerd at a bar that consisted of over 60 people playing trivia. I am 36 years old, there were quite a few people that were definitely alive and rocking in the 80's.

I guess I am still a bit shocked.

To me it seems that people only think gaming occured on home consoles and that ports of arcade games were released on said consoles only.  Trying hard not to say it but back in my day we had to leave the house for a gaming experience.
