XBOX price drop

<< < (2/3) > >>

shmokes:
$99 is unlikely.

hulkster:
well no matter what it drops too, instead of the Assbox sucking at $199 or $179, it will now suck at the low low price of $99!!!  (system wars comments ;D)

shmokes:
The assbox that is physically better than any of the other systems in every single way (aesthetics aside, oh...and Gamecube has the best controller) and can be used as a complete streaming media center for virtually any kind of video or music file (access your MP3 collection at your home theater, instead of your PC).  And that only goes into one of the legal uses of modding your X-box.  It doesn't even touch the exciting illegal things you can do with it.  In addition to getting all the same multiplatform greats that Sony gets, and more than Nintendo gets it also has a totally respectable library of exclusives like Rallisport Challenge, Crimson Skies, Top Spin, Halo, Syberia and a bunch of others.

hulkster:
well i have to say that you did point out some pro's of other systems so props to you on that.

just my personal pref. i just dont like the xbox exclusive titles enough i guess to warrant an assbox purchase.  halo is cool, but you can play it on pc....which apparently is the trend with a lot of their "exclusive" games.  which is something i dont get, why do all the best selling assbox games go to pc as well?  doesnt that take away the "exclusive" label?  halo is a great game, but why should i shell out more money to get a system with a crappy controller, and for an online service (although cool) that i have to pay monthly for???  i love nintendo, but when i was going to buy a second system i weighed my options and went with ps2 mainly because the online play for the EA sports titles and most other titles were free!  in my opinion, the assbox has lots of ports but why play on that system when its a crappy controller....and they also have some exclusives, but if given enough time they come out on either all systems, or more importantly straight to pc so whats the motivation???  in my opinion, without the hacks and stuff you do with the assbox(voiding warranty) its just another console-pc with bill gates backing it.

in other words....too much money, not enough quality.  just my two cents, so dont get all pissed and start flaming, chill.  no "nintendo is a kiddie system" or "ps2 isnt powerful enough" blah blah blah.  there are flaws in all the systems, but it seems the assbox has more...and AssBox just rolls off the tongue nicely dont you think ::)

Not do defend the "assbox" but Halo was exclusive for 2 years.  Its obviously not a reason to buy the xbox now.  And it makes perfect sense to me to release for the PC as it is a great game, and now simply adds more sales on another platform.  Also it was supposed to wet the appetite of non xbox users to want Halo2 (which was supposed to be out by now...but they screwed up that plan).

Anyway, "exclusive" usually means for a limitied time only.  Unfortunally xbox has no game which now would could be considered a system seller (at least until Halo2 comes out).
