I can see the drop to $130 before E3, but I doubt MS'll drop it to $99 for the holiday season.  My completely unqualified and uneducated guess is that it won't drop to $99 before 2005.  What I think we'll see later in the year is another bundle, probably X-box, two games (Maybe NFL Fever and Crimson Skies?), spare controller and possibly a 3-month Live subscription.  The goal being to get player hooked on the subscription service (and revenue) for Live.  That helps offset the loss on the console, while cementing players to the X-box brand.  I just wish Sony and EA would get over themselves and realize the X-Box Live is really the ideal way to do online console gaming.

well, i don't see sony making xbox live compatible games anytime soon, but EA actually is going to make an xbox live game, Battlefield 1942, and hopefully madden will follow suit:

I didn't mean Sony interacing with X-box live.  I meant sony creating a live-like online experience of their own.

I heard that this summer Xbox's will sell for $99

Also, www.gamespot.com shows Battlefield 1942 having a status of "cancelled"
