When I was using a 400 MHz CPU, I could play a lot of old classics, but couldn't touch 90's games like NBA Maximum Hangtime.  An Athlon 600 made these playable, but they stuttered a bit, and moving to an Athlon 800 made NBA Maximum Hangtime run pretty smooth.
