Paradise Arcade "Black Top" Joysticks LED
« on: August 30, 2016, 01:31:47 pm »
Hi everyone!  I'm knee deep in planning for my first pedestol, and want to go fairly all-out on LEDs.

In researching joysticks I had decided to go with Sanwa JLFs, but those coupled with LEDs get a little pricey (50 bucks on Paradise each X 4 needed). Paradise also has some more generic "Black Top" joysticks with presumably the same LED/Shaft/Top.

Anyone have any experience with these.  Can comment how they stack up against the JLFs?

I found my response I wrote to a similar question a while back...

I have the Paradise RGB LED joysticks. I don't have an in depth knowledge of the higher end joysticks so I cannot accurately rate these among other sticks. I think that when working with these sticks you have to realize that they are a very inexpensive joystick ($10) with LED upgrades added to bring them to $30. The return is soft but they do what they are supposed to do. They don't feel real sturdy but that's likely because they didn't cost $50 or upwards. These aren't real good joysticks but they do light up and they are cheap compared to other RGB LEDs. I would like to throw in that Paradise Arcade was excellent to deal with.

The thread is here and has a bit more info in it.... http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php/topic,146273.msg1522442.html#msg1522442

That is great thanks!  Funny reading through that, two of the black tops and two of the Sanwa's is actually exactly what I was thinking.
