Megatouch Ion Evo (2007 & 2013)

Both machines are working well now!

The 2007 would not boot with the 512MB stick I got for it.  I'm guessing the timings are off.  Either way, I put the original 128MB back in and it's running great.

I'm going to sell the 2007 and keep the 2013 for a little while.  Thanks for all the help.

cool cool. I had a bunch of 512 ram i got for those machines when the minimum requirements went up. crucial branded?

anyways every once in a while i get one come in that's got a post error beep that's ram... it's 90% of the time that crucial 512 stick.

It wasn't Crucial RAM.  The funny thing is, it wouldn't even give an error beep.  Just the "no signal" message on the screen.  I swapped the RAM on a hunch and it came to life.  I would still like to upgrade the memory so it's in place if I ever get a newer version key.

lilshawn:
the ram is shared by the video. so if the allocation of the bad ram is in the video part. the computer will start to POST, but fail. so fans spin up and things look okay, but no video is being output.

On another note...  Have you ever repainted or fixed holes in these?  There are some holes where they had screws that were too long and punched through.
