REQ: Mortal Kombat Marquee Vectorized
« on: January 16, 2004, 12:09:44 pm »
I'm in the process of putting together a Mortal Kombat I cabinet.  It's going into a 19" Dynamo cab.

The original marquees are sized for a 25" cabinet, and I do not want to cut one down.  Having one printed to size would be my best option.

Regretably my scanner no longer has magic smoke, so I cannot scan my existing marquee.

I can do something!

I can also use your logo and some effects... :)

I'm afraid of working on raster images because i'm not sure how it will coma out printed! :)

You could goto Kinkos or something and have them scan your marquee.  That would sure make easier for someone here to vectorize it for you.

Yeah, I can't find any decent scans of it on the 'net either.  And I'm poor!  How much does Kinkos charge for a scan like that?

By the hour. Expensive. Just for me to start the account, make one incorrect printout, it costs like, $10.

Find a friend with a scanner would be my suggestion.

Which would be useful if I had friends.

Ah well, my cabinet shall just be topless.

Here's a Mortal Kombat marquee I found.  Not the best for sure, but since I have zero talent, and I've seen people do amazing stuff with worse...

Can you find one at a local arcade? If so I can vectorize off of OK photos. Just give me some detail shots, and I can put something together.

Hey!  My digital camera is working again!  I can take a shot of the one I have!

The big reason I'm trying to get this done (other than having it in the repository) is I've got a 19" cabinet, and this went in a 25".  I could cut it down, but that just wouldn't be right!

Okay, I have them now.  How should I get them to you?  I took them @ max resolution for the best clarity.  So they're ~750k each.

Send them in my email. I don't have a cap, so anything you send I can receive.

Done.  It's a 6.9M attachement, so it might take a while to download if you're on a slow connection.

Sorry, I updated the vector wip rather than this thread.

Pretty good. I just have the dragons to finish. I'm going to work on it tonight.

I'll update you after that.
