I love cabarets. Watching this one. Good luck.  :)

When I built my first DK Cabaret I was kind of surprised at the lack of monitor space. I ended up going with a (I think) a 17 inch lcd. This is a pretty neat Idea. Can't wait to see what comes of it.

Ordered a slot cutter for t-moulding.
bought a 1/2" shank when the fixed router in my table takes 1/4".

Eh, I wanted plunge router anyway. :)

Nice day out to cut some MDF.
Go find my saw and.....

I have no idea. Maybe the dog? Lol.

Got it cut out & decided to route some slots into the sides for the front & back pieces to make assembly easier.
I'll gets pics once I start fitting it together.

I don't know why people complain about the dust from working with MDF though. :o
I wore the mini respirator I normally use when building something out of wood & still ended up blowing brown out of my nose. :'(

After the kids caught on to what I was doing they bugged me to make it into a Mario Bros. cabinet and I thought it might not look right but i've so far seen a few nintendo themed cabaret's so i may go for it.

i mocked some things up in cardboard & duct-tape and while a 2ft wide cabaret will accomodate two players and I can fit a 17" display i have no idea how it would be to play and if a crt would not stick out the back because you can only do so much with cardboard.

So i'm going to plan 2 players with 4 buttons in a neogeo arch config & attempt to hang a 17" crt on some scrap pieces in it with the front of the case removed and see how that works.
