Still concerned about the viewing angle on that style Caberet with two players, but let us know how it goes.

It goes like this?

It's just tacked together because I know I'll be adjusting the width.
But it's 24" deep and 25 1/4 wide on the outside.
Did I err?
That's  19 inch LCD on it.
I think I understand what you mean about viewing angle from an off center position but I believe when it's set flush it will be OK for two people if I go with my 17 CRT.
I can shave a few inches off the width also. I have a two player 4 button control panel (Jojo's venture and that is 22 1/4 wide ) so I can aim for that.

I have some angle brackets and carriage bolts I can mount on the inside sides to support the CRT and then I'll decase mine and mount it to some scrap pine I have and put my control panel on it also then throw something on the screen to see how it actually looks when you are standing off center working the controls.

This is coming along.
I have the proper bit for the button holes.
NOW.

Picking up some Lexan for the control panel so that player one button won't be sloppy anymore. :)

Settled on a standard NEO GEO control panel and overlaying the mario bros. control panel colors and a few characters.
I've cut the 19" LCD into it and fired it up.
I don't see any issues with viewing angle while standing on either side of center as if I was player 1 or 2 in a two player game.
Someone over 6ft maybe because of how far back the monitor is but i'm short and my kids will need step stools to see anyways.

Custom bezel also based off portions of the vector's i got online.
Going to have everything printed up on a laminated poster by officemax for now.
Can get bezel and control panel & marquee all on one sheet.

Have too many other things to pay for this summer.

I am however going to splurge a little on this:
the LED t-molding.

I've order white EL-Wire to put into it.
Along with white LED player 1 & 2 buttons and a white LED start button.
Then i'll pain the sides using the paint code I found for the mario bros orange.

I think it will look either really cool or completly horrid. :)
IG-88:
So how did this ever come out?
Zebidee:
I am a little curious too. Did you finish this, or is it still a WIP?

Cab project I'm working on now is 5 years old already. Sometimes other priorities come up.
