I hear you, brother. By the time we finished loading Arcadenut's truck, got my stuff home, had dinner, unloaded his stuff, got Harvey and VWbus back to the hotel in Mesa, and then got myself home, I didn't go to bed till 1:30. Then I had to get up at 6 for work.

I'm going to post a very thorough, more detailed breakdown of the weekend later, but I just wanted to say I really appreciate all you guys and ladies coming out to hang out with us Phoenicians at our little arcade show. I'm quite chuffed that you would spend your time and money to come and play video games, run around, and just generally socialize with us arcade Misfits. To me, the beauty is seeing you guys from out of state, country even, mingling with the local friends I have in this hobby. We have a great Community here in Phoenix. We look out for each other, we don't compete with each other, and we help each other out. And to see you guys interacting like that, well, it makes it all worth it to me. I really am looking forward to seeing you guys again. I would love to be greedy and say see you guys next year, but if you guys make it out every couple years, I'd be the happiest mofo in the city of Phoenix. I look forward to you coming out in the future with your families and enjoying what our city has to offer, and not just when it comes to videogames.

We had a great time and plan to come back next year. It was really cool to meet everyone here and I wish I could have talked to everyone more but our 10 month old kept us pretty busy. Thanks to all the locals and the ZapCon folks more making this such a fun event!

Playing ThunderJaws with Vigo and not being able to stop laughing at how ambiguously gay the character sprites are.

Neph loosing his cheese to the pavement gods at the Monestary.

Watching Aceldamor and Yotsuya devastate what I thought was a decent Black Widow score I put up at Starfighters.

Keeping my name on the Raiden Fighters scoring table all weekend.

Ond telling me why he loved Star Wars 7

Forcing retrogreg to have another beer so I could get a badge.

Meeting Brien and Jawhn.

Going to play Train in Vain on the Casa de Yotsuya touchscreen Juke but listening to West End Girls instead because it came on right as I was about to select and I was like, well that's actually pretty cool too...

The happy looks on everyone's face I noticed when they were playing games, it was totally noticeable every where I walked around this weekend.

Hearing the locals plan their stops and load outs and still managing to get all of Paul and Brien's games in one fell swoop.

Showing people the hidden level in Zapcon the game and hearing them cackle as much as I did the first time I saw it.

Breakfast with Vigo and Neph on Saturday and talking about my boring career in banking.

Playing the Dark Ride with Vigo and Yots at Castles and Coasters, I wish we had a place like that in Tulsa.

It was an awesome weekend, I highly suggest attending ZapCon at least once.  I hope to make it to future events!

Walking around Zapcon and seeing Harvey B's dedication to Raiden....then chattin him up about Zback cabs, and that apparently his #jorts were a wee bit snug

Not getting my order correct at the Monistary because of the sheer about of people that came Fri. night the poor waitress couldn't keep up.

Just a few of my highlights:

After checking into the hotel, stealthily walking around the back side of the convention center and peaking in at all the games.

When everyone arrived at the Monastery and realizing we were a crowd of 30+ people. Wow!

The odd feeling of talking to another guy about arcade controls without his eyes rolling back into his head.

Experiencing Startfighters, that place is seriously awesome. Any arcade enthusiast coming to Phoenix needs to make it to this place.

Watching my daughter run back and forth from one end of the hotel room to the other so she could alternate between looking at herself in the mirror and playing with the swivel chair.

Waking up early Saturday morning so we could be in line by 9:00am.

Seeing the back of a least one BYOAC t-shirt every time I'd look down a row of games.

Showing some of the younger attendees how to bring a dead pin back to life.

Danger Dann giving Matilda the cool vintage Qbert plush and taking a bunch of pictures with him later on.

Taking a two hour family nap in the hotel room Saturday afternoon.

Us all going to IN-N-OUT so Ond could experience awesomeness for the first time in his sheltered Australian life. There were some great conversations going on there too!

Ok so my highlights:
Meeting everyone Yots, Haruman, Vigo, Ond + Susan, Neph, Harvey, VJ, etc were all as awesome as I thought they'd be

StarFire was awesome

Got to eat In and Out Burger again

Both going 9-1 on Killer Queen with my fellow BYOACers, and getting ROFL stomped playing with Vigo , the brat , and the fat kid. Sub highlight, when Vigo thought I made the brat cry in the lobby.

Drawing dickbutt on Yot's poster / him getting me back with "I <3 X2" and "BUY A KADE!"

Seeing how much everyone couldnt finish / HATED the "Malenko frogger level" in the Zapcon game, especially "notTHAT Jennifer"

Telling racist / pedophile jokes at Diamonds with Neph, Vigo, and OND. Worst Service ever.

I was really impressed how people got excited about the badges. It was just a little idea I had, and it really turned out to be probably the most team-building thing throughout the whole weekend. People were actively helping people earn badges by doing things like setting up photo bombs and stuff like that.
