And if you run out of buttons, just connect another ZD board. I have two connected to one of my cabs. The Emulation Station front end of RetroPie only uses buttons from one ZD board - so you cannot mix them.  I use one ZD board for player 1 and admin controls, the second ZD board for player 2. I'm running a RP2 with a year old RetroPie image.

It's also worth bearing in mind that you can connect the joysticks and buttons directly to the RPi's GPIO pins and potentially avoid having to use a Zero Delay altogether.

Yeah i Know but I kinda wanna make a controller and not just sticking with the retropie
