Been playing with my Retropie on RasberryPi 2 and pretty happy except for N64 emulation.

Looks like the Pi 3 has it covered.
Here's a demo on the new Pi 3 / Retropie reviewed/ demoed by the Adafruit folks.

Picked one up today and started to play with it. I'm going to be building my first name arcade machine and not sure weather i'm going to use the RP3 or my i5 Intel NUC. Obviously the NUC performed better, but I don't plan on using N64 and anyway.

My RPi3 is working out great!  Runs everything I've tried full speed.

Keep us updated if you see any issues. Would love to see a video of the setup

I was thinking for a bartop or portable CP with integrated emulator the RetroPie on Pi2 or 3 would be great.  I was originally thinking Pi for an upright but as time goes on the build in my head gets "feature creep". So a more powerful cpu, like an i5 , will be needed  ie Daphne for some wii emulation, newer versions of Golden Tee etc.
