  • I want to build my own arcade controls!
Hello,
I have a tv as a monitor that i use in 1366 x 768 resolution. I use an AimTrak setted with his ultimark software, and so far so good.
The problem is, when i try to play with mame or sega model emulators the video crosshair is not centered correctly as the pc software did...
I tried to change resolution of the fullscreen of the emulators, 1366x768...800x600...1024x768...and so on, but working nothing good....
The only thing it seems to working a bit, is setting under windows (i use win7 64) an artifact calibration, not centered with the shown cursor, but a calibration done to be close to what the mame or sega model games should be.
Why? can i have a correct calibration to play under those emulators?
Thanks.

1. You should calibrate in Windows using the same resolution that you will play in. So if you play in 1024x768, then you should calibrate at that resolution in Windows. Do not calibrate at 1366x768. I think this is your problem.

2. There is a tilt setting in the Aimtrak software. You can try turning that off.

3. Make sure that the emulator is not stretching. Most games are 4:3, so make sure that you are playing in 4:3 where the screen is not stretched.

4. If you still have the problem, try to calibrate the gun in the emulator's calibration settings. However, this is the worst solution due to how the emulators are designed, and how the Aimtrak acts as a mouse.

Thanks for the reply...
I'll try tomorrow....
My windows tv settings is for a 16:9 so i'll try for first to calibrate the lightgun on a 4:3
I'll let you know those experiments...
Thank you.

Done everything, but still problems in accuracy....
In particular with sega model 2 , and virtua cop the crosshair is pushed too much to the right part of the screen.
In general seems each game, (more or less), need a its calibration with the ultimark software...very strange to me.

I am out of ideas. Those 4 options are the only things I can think of.
