Hey!

According to their Facebook page, it's coming soon for android and a little later for Steam.  I bought the iOS version and there's no denying it's awesomeness  :).  It's basically a merge of outrun/lotus esprit with new fancy aesthetics but done with a retro virtua racing type look to the scenery.  The polish here is unreal.

Hope they make the controls cab friendly!

  • I want to build my own arcade controls!
Would love it if this had LAN (hello twin cab!), though hopefully it will at least have MP.

... and the lag makes those phones/pads the WORST devices to play on.

bleh.  Hate to be a downer... but its no outrun.

The coin and gas icons makes it ultra cheesy.   No car wreckage = baby game / unrealistic.
The whole thing seems far too easy as well.

The graphics are ok... but the low poly stuff seems cheesy too.  At least sprite games had shaded realism & beauty.

IMO... there are far better racers, old and new.

"bleh.  Hate to be a downer... but its no outrun." :   For me the first reaction was Feels like Outrun and Lotus. I think it's a great re-creation of the feel.
"No car wreckage = baby game / unrealistic." :  But Outrun is also unrealistic ;)   for me it's all about the fun.
These days it have to be so realistic: look at race games, soccer games ect, but where is the fun?
Don't get me wrong, Back then I did played on my Commodore C16 Tomb Of Tarrabash and I had a great time with it. 16k size. When you look back now, you can not imagine how you could make a game with a small amount of kb it's GB these days and even then the game can be suck ;)

I hope this game will be out on steam very soon

There are Countless racing games going way back into the 70s...   and pretty much all of them with exception to the late 90s... allow your car to crash / explode.

Pole Position,  Super Hangon,  Spy Hunter,  Out Run,  Super Sprint,  Continental Circus, Enduro Race,  Hard Drivin, Rally Bike
...  heck, you can even wipe out in Excite Bike.

In fact... when Arcades started to make games  "Baby Easy"  (easy difficulty, as well "pay to continue") ...  they started to die off.
The reason is simple.   When you reduce challenge... there is less desire to master and even play it.   There is less reward, and less adrenalized feelings associated with playing it..   thus, its basically becomes a sort of boring interactive movie.  (without actors, nor a good storyline)

(and if you can buy your way to the end of a game... its rare that its ever worth playing again)

I also had a Commodore computer.   The C-64, and the Amiga 500.    Games on PCs were often notoriously difficult... and also had no problem killing your Car off if you crashed.

What you have here is basically a 10 min time killer for your phone.   Its not really a game that is going to be remembered.. or even played, past a few months span.

  • Rock and Roll!
blah blah blah

...Do you like anything? When is something good enough for you? If you don't like something, why do you have to jump on it and trash it, why not just keep it to yourself? Did you even give it a try, or did you just make all these assumptions about it? Please don't respond to me. I know I asked a lot of questions but I don't want to hear it.

I like it.  The graphics are very reminiscent of Atari's Roadblaster with a little bit of Sega's Space Harrier mixed in for good measure.  Personally I understand that it's a frikkin tablet game and set my expectations accordingly.
