Neo Geo MVS-4 slot plans
« on: July 04, 2015, 09:55:17 am »
Hi everyone,

I am looking for accurate plans for a Neo-Geo MVS 4 slot. I would like to study the plans and see if a replica or a loose replica is what I want to make next for a scratch build project.
If things look good andI get started I would eventually be looking for a couple 4 slot owners willing to be a helpful resource I can bounce numbers off of when the plans leave out a detail or two.

I have been trying to get onto Jackobuds site and also arcadeplans.com as I believe that is what Jackobud was going to change to but they don't seem to be live right now.

If someone could provide plans or point me to another source that would be great.

Thanks,
n3wt0n

Yeah I just tried to get on jackobud.com and it didn't go.
He's on the forum here, maybe you can message him.

One other alternative is Sketchup and then download Gozers Neo Geo cabinet models.
They're fairly accurate though maybe not perfect

Okay, it looks like Jakobud is back up. I got there by going to arcadeplans.com but I think both work now.

I have downloaded the plans but have a question about the control panel layouts. I have seen Neo Geo with a curved button layout in photos but most seem to be three straight with a lower one. Is this a difference depending on where you bought a cab or is it a time frame difference? Can anyone shed some light on that for me?

Thanks,
n3wt0n

I'm not sure. I have a 2-slot with the brushed steel control panel. I was told by the seller that its a late model. Has the curved button layout.

Thanks. If you need any measurements from my unit, feel free to ask.

Are you going CRT or LCD? Mame?

I am planning on going CRT and to use Mame until I can purchase a 4-slot board.  Thanks, I may take you up on some of those measurements once things get started.

Boards can be had for about $100. However, mame can get pricey. If you need any new condition mame items I'll be selling my mame setup since I have MVS.
