Anyone into this? I can appreciate a nice car, but I think that they are a little ridiculous. My neighbor has a 1956 ford pickup truck that so far has probably cost him the same as his house. Anyways I recently picked up a classic car for my wife. She is hardcore into it, in theory anyways. Has had no actual hands on experience and pretty much beats the ---steaming pile of meadow muffin--- out of her car and wonders why it isn't running as well as when she bought it. I have a fear that this car will be the start of many crazy ideas she starts and needs me to finish. Luckily I got it for a steal, and won't be much of a loss if it comes to that... except that I sold one of my Gibson Blueshawks (guitar) to pay for it :'( It's a relatively new classic, if you go by car over 25 years... it's a 1983 Buick Hearse, the model starts with a C but can't remember off the top of my head. The advertisement said Buick Elektra but it was actually a Buick modded by a company called Eureka in a fancy script font that probably confused them. It's got a 307 engine, runs very well (stalled once but hadn't been driven in several months, needed some fluids topped up) and had relatively new tires on it. I imagine it was a working car, as it only has 128,000 km on it. It has the original roller bed, but in the back it's got another row of seats installed and the back doors have inside handles so those people can get out. I'm hoping to make a little extra money by driving little goth girls to prom or graduation and of course halloween is coming up. You have to understand... if my wife was a little slimmer and taller with bigger knockers and black hair she would be Elvira. She was really excited. It's got flames on the front. |

That looks like fun. You have a real Munsters vibe going with that car. This made me laugh- --- Quote from: eds1275 on May 19, 2015, 03:56:55 am ---You have to understand... if my wife was a little slimmer and taller with bigger knockers and black hair she would be Elvira. Yeah she's a wild one. But in the good way. I'm half really excited about this car and half dreading it will turn into one more chore for me to do around the house. We have a large property and I have a lot of responsibilities as is. I'd be happy to help her with soem stuff, but car stuff, apart from changing belts and oil, doesn't interest me in the slightest. |

There is a Malcom in the Middle episode on right now where some dude gives tours of gruesome death locations in his Hearst. There you go. :) |
