Ok, I broke down and ordered a new Pi

Mine arrived 2 days ago. I ordered it from adafruit. I was literally refreshing the browser when I bought it last week and watching the inventory drop quickly.

I plan on making a final burn alpha "console" using the Retropie image.

Just buy a compatible card locally. Refer to this: http://elinux.org/RPi_SD_cards

Need to pick up a card and get a head start on the programming.
About the piplay: Is there a frontend with it? Something like mala?

PiPlay is the front end. Personally,  I prefer Emulation Station.

That looks very good. Wonder if it will work with the new Pi 2?
