Generic Eric:
I'm excited to hear some feedback from some who has used both.

It would be nice to see a comparison to coinops too.  God knows it'll be more quite than an xbox.

pbj:
Xbox has many advantages but there are many, many new games that are cabinet friendly that I would like to add to the rotation.  A shame that newer consoles have never been so throughly hacked.

Android uses the linux kernel.

Thats right, Android is just as "linux" as Ubuntu. If you add up all linux distributions it's the number one operating system in the world. I don't care for Android my self. IOS always seem to be faster on similar hardware. My limited understanding is because Android runs every thing in a Java like machine that aid in compatibility. IOS and the chips it runs on are super customized to run fast with each other. Also out side of there custom linux Kernel (many distros custom the Kernel) that Google has to release under the GPL, Android is not very open at all that would be the one thing I would be interested in.

Thats because Raspbian uses super light/fast LXDE as a GUI. Linux is modular so it easy'ish to change the GUI if you like it you should try lubunu (Ubuntu with LXDE) on that laptop your using to try linux, it should make a speed difference. The Raspbian make it less pretty by default (its geared for kids) but lubunu looks better by default.

I find this very interesting.
Need to pick up a card and get a head start on the programming.
About the piplay: Is there a frontend with it? Something like mala?

Mine should be in this week.

Wah!cade should run on the new one.
I installed it on my rpi b no problems but it ran too slow to be of any use.

I would love to see a report of future pinball running under wine on a pi 2.  I'm thinking of picking one up to make a small stand alone pinball machine.
