Ok, I broke down and ordered a new Pi

Locke141: I have a Model A+ 256 MB Raspberry PI.  So far I've only tried Nes Emulation on Super Mario Bros. 3.  It seems to work ok, I have yet to try any MAME Roms yet.  I've managed to break the USB Port on the thing so I ordered a port along with a few more goodies from Adafruit. This is going to be a fun project.

DaOld Man: No one is more impressed than myself.  I just assembled the thing, a Printrbot Simple Metal.  I think I made a good choice in a 3D printer.  My design skills aren't too great, but I am learning.  The prints I've done, including the GameBoy replica can be found on Thingiverse.  I just download them and tell the printer to spit 'em out.  The only print I designed myself was a knob for my drill press, there's a pic of it on these forums somewhere.  The prints for the GameBoy took somewhere between six to eight hours, I didn't sit and watch.  It's kinda like that Ron Popeil oven just set and forget.  Perhaps I'll make a video, but it'll have to be something small and pertaining to our BYOAC interests.  If you have any ideas, let me know.

DaOld Man:
You don't have to make a video. I just go crazy over watching those 3d printers and cnc s  run.
Can I ask you how much one of those printers cost?

RoyalScam:
I got my printer here;

http://printrbot.com/shop/simple-metal-kit/

It says from $539.  As I recall it was 625 to my door with full roll of PLA.

I think if I were to do it all over again, I'd buy this for the speed and larger build volume.

Good to know.

I had XBMC running on an old XBOX years ago. In fact it was my first MAME experience. Is that still an XBOX running on turtle box pick on the UCA thread? The one with D&D Sky's over Mystara?  I'v been thinking about doing an XBOX build this summer.  Is CoinOPS the way to go these days?

Edit: The B+ looks faster on paper.

XBOX

* CPU: 733 MHz Custom Intel Pentium III "Coppermine-based" processor
* Memory: 64 MB of DDR SDRAM @ 200 MHz
* Graphics: 233 MHz Nvidia NV2ASource: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xbox_(console)

Raspberry Pi 2 Model B

* CPU: 900 MHz quad-core ARM Cortex-A7
* Memory: 1GB RAM (shared with GPU)
* Graphics: 250 MHz Broadcom VideoCore IV  Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Raspberry_Pi

Seeing how Nvidia has a reputations for not being very open with there hard ware and how the Broadcom VideoCore IV is probably the most open video core there is. I think the R-pi community will be able to get the most out of it.

That said I still want to try CoinOPS. It looks like the got a lot out of the old girl.

Mine is attached to the back of my monitor and has seen practically no use what so ever.

Linux is practically dead now, since we have android (yeah I know) as the winboxes are as small as a seven inch tablet.

BTW did I tell you about my HP Stream 7 and how........... :blah:    :lol
