The texture is smooth and won't do that but you definitely feel the barrels grooves. The detail is really top notch along with the paint job.

so...would you say it needs another poly layer like I suggested?  Our is it smooth enough to get to the kill screen?

Don't think you need another coat of poly layer. It's smooth enough.
Love the DK symbol idea but I think it might be better on the top of the barrel.

i think the barrel looks pretty cool. The DK logo on the front would be rad.
