PSA: Stop using Raspberry Pis; they're not fast enough for MAME

OMG, I just realized that bulbousbeard succeeded in hooking me with his ridiculous Pi vs every other computer ever made debate. My apologies to the community for bumping the thread (there is no sarcasm here, I am truly sorry)...I'm Audi :dizzy:

So to run mame "properly", you NEED an i5 NUC (or faster x86 based PC) and an $800 Asus ROG Swift G-sync LCD monitor.  Apparently you also NEED true original leaf switches and since you are running an LCD, the proper HLSL settings.  And the right "float" technique.

We are ALL doing it wrong, and there are two experts on this board to set us straight.

Good to know, thanks!

Dude, that's like $450 bucks shipped to my door and I still need an OS.

Linux is FREE. Needing an OS should not be a factor in price.

OP didn't say "If you want a small form factor, that runs Linux, get an i5 NUC".

I get it, your a web developer, some of us are just everyday dullards who buy retail versions of Windows at Best Buy. So, no, your wrong, I will keep the OS as part of my cost thank you very much...

Ubuntu is just as easy to set up as winblows. Throw your money away. I don't care.

The NUC is 3x the price of a Win 7 OEM disk with key. F that!
