How annoying will this movie be?

Might want to spoiler tag the part about Shredder's costume.  It's the only surprise in that god awful movie.

Sure it's surprising, but in the way that like flash flood or assault or an STD is surprising.  I wish somebody would've warned me.  Here's another spoiler non spoiler.  No other mutants.  All that awesome mutagen and no Bebop, no Rock Steady, no Baxter, not even a damn Casey Jones.

Did he at least not screw up splinter?  :dunno

Splinter was good.  If they had poured some of the mystery and build up they used on Splinter and put a dash of that onto Shredder the movie would have been better for it.

The back story was kind of a mesh of a few different turtle-verses with some new stuff thrown in for good measure.  That part of it wasn't a bad treatment at all in my opinion.  At least they weren't aliens or anything like that.  They missed the mark in developing why the hell the foot clan would be after the turtles and Splinter anyway - or at least a big chunk of the mark.

From what I read, (note I said READ.... you guys can't complain if you keep funding the idgit by going to see his garbage films) the backstory was utter crap.

They basically lifted it from the amazing spiderman, another mindless reboot.  Oh and yeah young April names the Turtles and her father makes them or something because this film is all about April O' Fox... afterall it's called Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles... oh wait... :badmood:

That's what gets me.  I want to see parts shifting into different positions like the original toys transforming.
With the current way, they might as well be made out of liquid metal like the robot in terminator 2.
There's nothing clever about it.
Truck>swarm of garbage>robot.

I forgave that bit in the first film because it wasn't that bad and we hadn't seen the transformers in anything American since Beast Machines.  But with each sequel the transformations looked progressively worse.  Their character designer is a moron.  A transformation effect, which doesn't even last a second should be as simple and crisp as possible so you can actually follow what is happening.  Yet with each sequel they actually BRAG about adding more detail to each transformation.  It just shows that they are clearly missing the point.

I always envisioned a realistic transformation with the robots looking basically like they did in G1 and using the same transformation animation, only when the transformation is about complete all those "errors" (grills the wrong angle/size, ect) start filling themselves out and it zooms in at the microscopic level to see nano-bots rapidly welding the seams together only to zoom out to see sparks zipping around all the seams for a split second until a satisfying "clunk" is heard as all the seams from the robot limbs are finally formed into the solid car body.  The transformation into a robot would be the opposite of course.

You would only have to show those nano bots once as an establishing shot and then after that you'd never have to take that much time and it would explain why seams magically appear/disappear on the robots.
