Outrun stand-up cab project
hiljak:
Here's where I'm at so far with the Outrun mini cab. Picked up the cab for $50.00 and ripped the guts out. I ended up cutting about 10" or so of the depth off the back of the cab since there was so much wasted space once an LCD was installed. Also removed the the hi-lo shifter and modified the control panel to accept a Ketz 4 speed shifter from a Scud Race. Modified the monitor area to accept a 24" LCD. That's about it for now and the cab still needs some work including sand/fill and paint and it needs one small repair under the edge molding by the pedal area.
For the computer, I have an i7-4770 Haswel (3.4 quad with boost to 3.8), 8GB RAM, Geforce GTX-560-ti 1GB card and 500GB SATA hard drive. Windows 7 x64 is installed along with Sega Model 2, Supermodel, and mameUI64 with a few driving games from each of those for rtesting. I'm interfacing the pots to the computer via an A-pac which I wish I wouldn't have bought. I need something that presents itself as one joystick for everything. Has anyone use the U-HID?
Here are some pics of this thing so far:

You linked your images wrong. Use the image tags, not the url ones. Also you seem to have fudged the first link in each group.

I edited it to fix the tags, but I can't see the pics on my work computer. Hope it worked! :lol

Originally I fixed the OP's pics but now that that isn't necessary I'll use this space to talk about how I really like this build and have aspirations of a dedicated driver myself. Looks like a great project and I like the way the OP thinned down the back on the cab, looks great!
