need advice on custom recoil circuit
« on: May 22, 2014, 10:52:17 am »
Hey All,

I am trying to incorporate recoil into a 6 jamma switching lightgun cabinet I've made.  The games dont all support recoil natively so I've decided the best fit would be a recoil that works off of the trigger button and provides a short "burst" when the trigger is pulled,  It would be preferable for the bust to be the same regardless of the length of the trigger pull.

I tried making a simple circuit that worked on relays but I didn't have any luck with it.

I believe I need an optocoupler and a 555 timer so make this circuit work, the trigger is the standard 1-1.5 volt jamma button singnal and the solenoid will require a 24VDc power source that I alreay have

I'll be making this circuit for P1 and P2 so if there is something that will help me skip[ making 2 seperate boards I would appreciate it.

Not really sure what this needs to look like.  I have seen examples of this circuit in other places on the forums but I just can't figure it what it needs to look like.
