Super Sprint on a modular cp
« on: May 19, 2014, 12:38:02 pm »
I finally got Super Sprint playable on my MAME cab, and thought I would share a pic. It took me about 10 years to actually get to this 3 wheel setup. I had a 2 wheel setup working on the last version of my cab, but I always wanted the 3 player.

Next, I need to get the other wheels hooked up:

Cool!
Are the wheels from Badlands?

Yes, they are badlands wheels. I had others early on, but the ease of mounting these won me over.

I've got a set of those out of a Death Race.  Apparently these guys were made by a real hot-rod wheel company back in the day and they are pseudo sought after in the collector's market.

I can't quite figure out how to integrate them into a traditional racing cab though....

Nice!  I'm digging your pedestal base as well--any pics of that?  Is there a build thread for the whole machine?
its better to not post and be thought a fool, then to whip out your keyboard and remove all doubt...

I had to sell my woodworking tools to make room for my arcade, so I farmed out the woodwork on this version. I was hoping it would make it faster, but it has been almost a year and a half, and he still has to finish another 20 panels. If I had to do it over again, I would do the woodwork myself. I can't afford the same level of attention to detail that I put into projects, so there are a lot of little issues that I am not too happy with. Overall though, it works, and I will be able to play just about any game available. There is an old thread here about the first version of the modular CP. I think there is a link just under my user name.

Edit: That link goes to my wordpress site, but has the same info copied over. I will try to find the thread after work today.

Did you get the wheels off ebay not long ago? Were they connected to a control panel?

I bought the first 2 probably 6 years ago, then the third one probably 3 years ago. They did all come form ebay though.
