Sanwa JLF questions
« on: March 19, 2014, 10:17:51 am »
I'm planning on mounting two Sanwa JLF sticks from underneath.  My CP is 1/2" thick.  Is that too thick?  I see many people route a recess for the sticks.  I don't have a router.  I also see you can buy extended shafts.  Is that a good solution, or do you notice a difference in gameplay?  Thanks

I mounted one on a 3/4" thick cp with a 1/4" route out and it worked well enough.

To avoid the hassle of routing, I made my CP from 1/2" MDF and mounted them from underneath without issues.  It worked great for my Sanwa JLFs and my OBSF buttons too.  I would definitely do it again.

I say go for it!

With 1/2" MDF you'll probably be okay.  And extended shafts are always an option, if you find them too 'short'.
