Xbox360 pad rumble effect and Model2 emulator

(1/2) > >>

Hi,

in Model2 emulator there's the Xinput support (xinput option in emulator.ini), but I cannot figure out how to let the rumble on my xbox360 controller work: I mean, looks like setting that option to "1" is not sufficient (there's a little slow down in performances for sure, so something happens, but pad motors are freezed)

Anyone had success using rumble (not FF!) with this emu?

Could eventually be used Howard's Troubleshooter2 for this?

I have no clue what the deal is with all the mamehooker questions recently.

I can answer one thing clearly.  Xinput doesn't support FF at all.  Xinput only has left and right motor (rumble) support.  It's been a while since I've messed with it, but I believe that the setting fires the rumble motors just fine.  Are you using the Microsoft drivers?  If not then the pad will NOT show up as a Xinput device but rather a regular old joystick and you should tweak your settings as such.

Well, in my specific case it's very simple: i have interfaced a home made big vibration sistem to my racing cab and i am going to enjoy it  ;D

Howard_Casto:
Well if you are going the xinput route you totally used the wrong interface.  PC racers don't use xinput, because, like I said, it doesn't support true force-feedback. They use regular old direct-input.

I am not interested in "pc racers” but mame/mamehooker and model 2 and they both support xinput (cannonball will soon too).
The point is HOW and with which limits model 2 support xinput rumble being no evidences of users using that with 360 pads for that.
