As you can see above Rick that is the instruction card that, from what I could find was never on any of the manufactured FFJR cabs. The funny thing is though if you watch the arcade scene in the beginning of Wreck It Ralph and you look closely you can see it on the cab. I added a picture of the scene below. Squint and you can see it.

That's the one issue I had when Disney produced their "original" FFJR cabinets: they weren't even true to their own movie, nor the history of the Nintendo cabs that they're emulating. I 'get' that they were creating a fictional set of cabinets - ones that 'could have' existed and have been used over the years - but why didn't they go overboard to create "the one" you see in the movie? Build the software with the cut-scenes that you see in the movie ("Hey! You moved my stump!") and make everything else functional?

Never mind.  I saw your cocktail cab and assumed it was a DK cocktail but I was wrong.  Now that I see it I can see it is not.  Looks like you used it as a test bed.  So I can assume you have a Nintendo cab in the wings or you have built it already....

...maybe. ;) ;)

@ Rick.  That's the Disney money making machine.  Get it out quick, make sure it's family friendly and watch the profits roll in.  Not a bad business strategy if you ask me.

I know your coin buttons were installed on the returns (I'll be stealing that idea). What did you do for other admin buttons?

Sorry for the late reply Buick.  I really don't have many admin buttons.  Since it's a computer running XP I made sure my 'front end' started right up in the beginning.  All I have to do is reach in the coin door, hit the power on the PC and wait for it start up.  Since I wanted this to feel like a real arcade game I really didn't need any other admin buttons.  To shut down the PC I just made a shortcut on the desktop to shut down the machine when I hold down the jump, fix, and if I remember right both credit buttons down.  I wish I could tell you what the sequence is but my machine is back home.  350 miles away.

I have to install the dust washer, map the second credit button again, and this machine should be on its way.  Probably this weekend.

Good to hear you have almost got it finished up  I told myself "this isn't going to be another 5 year project" but progress is slow to nonexistent on my machine.. I have smartened up though, I'm gettin the machine completed and working then I will tear it down for paint and art.. I hope  ::)

So I guess your also using a button combo for quitting game and going back to front end [escape]? The only reason I ask is b/c the temptation to install an escape button in the 2"-ish board under the CP/Speaker above the coin door is killing me :lol

It's your cab.  If you feel it could work I wouldn't hesitate to try it out.  It worked well for Superfrog on his Nintendo bartop as seen below.

In the future I might add a couple of these little guys for admin purposes but I haven't decided either way.

Hi there. Sorry to bump this... but I'm just starting to put together a Felix cab from scratch and have now got to the control panel..

I've got the artwork for the CPO, but I wasn't sure if it's best to have it printed out first before drilling holes into my new plywood. Which way round did you guys do it?

Thanks :)

Print an el-chepo copy of the CP art out at your local staples. Tape that to the wood, drill, the actual high quality print should line up just right. Well unless someone screws up on the printing.

The print at staples should cost about $3-$7 in their large format printer, and only take 5 minutes for them to do.

Werd.  I was fortunate enough to have a "plotter" at work that we use for blueprints.   I went in early one day printed my mock ups and used that for a template so I wouldn't mess up the artwork.

This looks awesome! I played one of the Disney made ones at a museum by my house. I think looks in better shape, but from what I heard Disney made theirs looked worn in. But Great clean FIFJ cab!

I finally dropped off the old girl to the her forever home.  I was fortunate to get a break in the weather over Christmas.  It wasn't that hard to say goodbye and I know it will get a lot of use in my old man's basement.  He and mom are good for throwing parties where I know it will get used.
I can safely say that it might be a while if I build another one if at all.  Pictures below like usual.

Wait... That looks so small next to that door.  What wizardry is going on here?

That is the magic of an over sized door.

Nope.  Just the magic of craftsman making doors that are larger than the standard 6'8".   :dunno

And the magic spell I put on it to shrink it down so I could move it easier.
