The tapatalk IOS app is complaining the forum has an expired Tapatalk API. Just a heads up

The forum admins probably need to update the plugin for the forum. It's probably because the newer updates for Tapatalk have changed things a lot (especially with Push Notifications, etc).

On my android, tapatalk crashes, where it didn't before. On my ipod touch, its not working right either. It doesn't sync up any of the threads.

I'm on Tapatalk 2.4 for Android & iOS and neither work now. Android just spins but for iOS I get this error message -

"Cannot connect to Forum This forum is either restricting access from Tapatalk or the installed Tapatalk plugin is not working. Please contact Saint."

Just tried to add this to tapatalk for my iPad and it says access is restricted by the administrator. Hope this gets fixed, would really like to use it.

I was also unable to bring up BYOAC using android Tapatalk v2. Today it finally worked! But I get a message that I am unable to login using Tapatalk and to contact system admin. At least I get to check posts again using my phone

Don't know what Saint did, but it now works great!

I hadn't used Tapatalk for quite some time, and after seeing notes in this thread I almost gave up on using it.

Then, this morning... my phone beeped. Tapatalk had popped up a note to tell me MPM had posted more CheeseCake! w00t!

I wanted to give my information in hopes that it will help resolve the problem. I use Tapatalk on both my iPhone and iPad Mini. End of last week they both stopped working and I was getting the error mentioned in the original post. I got on the board through my computer and saw this post. Here is my current status.

iPhone 5c with iOS v7.0.4Tapatalk v2.3.0 - works fine with no issues that I am aware of.

iPad Mini with iOS v7.0.4 and Tapatalk HD v1.6.1 - when I launch Tapatalk and click on the BYOAC link, the login page comes up and then there is a widow that pops up on top that says "System Message - You are not allowed to login via Tapatalk, please contact your forum administrator." I click on OK and the window goes away and I then have the login page displaying. If I enter my password, I receive the same error. If I cancel the login screen and then click on the link to BYOAC forum again. I am logged in and it works. It's just a little annoying to have to repeat the process.

I am not sure what the reason is, but hopefully this information will help Saint in figuring it out.

Thanks and I really enjoy using Tapatalk to view the forum from my mobile devices.

I just get a timeline view where I can see posts, but I can't log in at all. Tried cmoses' trick on my Android, but no go.

Workarounds for both:

iPad:

Cancel login. Tap on forum again.

iPhone:

From the iPhone notification screen tap on any post notification for the forum.

It does suck quite a bit. I've basically stopped coming to the site and rarely lurk simply because it's a pain using the full website on a mobile device.

Yup. I'll get on using the pc every now and then but not near as much as I would if I had access through Tapatalk.

This is an interesting twist now.... I was on Tapatalk this morning and read a few threads here. In the past after I pulled up the boards on my PC, the threads would as having "new" posts which makes sense because Tapatalk wouldn't let me login and browse. Today, however, the threads that I read did not show any "new" posts. So even though Tapatalk didn't show me as logged in, the forum still acknowledged that I read those threads.

Anyone else had that happen?

Yes. I've been running fine in Tapatalk on iOS without logging in. Just have to jump through a few hoops. Android I hear is not usable, though.

I thought it might have been something to do with my account, but I guess the API has just expired.

I wonder if using an older version of the Tapatalk app might be a solution. Finding a version that still supports the old Tapatalk API on this forum.

OK, first of all, sorry everyone about no replies and no working Tapatalk. In a brief nutshell, after a prolonged series of health issues my father passed away recently. As well, various other real life things have made my available time for proactive forum work about nil.

Yesterday I had shoulder surgery. Being doped to the gills and by force able to do little but sit I took a look at this. I *think* I have it working now? Someone please test and let me know?

The more I dig into it, the more I read about problems with tapatalk and SMF. So much so that SMF pulled Tapatalk out of their supported plug in list.
