Thanks, but I really don't see anything there that would tell me how to do it...

Hence, the "sort of" ... is the best reference that I am aware of.

Ah.... That's why I keep coming across the PC-10 in my searches on an unrelated project. There seems to be a lot of broken links and half-assed posts related to the PC-10.

I have seen people jammatize a nes. However there cannot be any easy way to run a nes cart in an actual playchoice board. If there was then operators would have figured it out in 1987 and saved themselves a lot of money.

The web page listed hasn't been updated in 10 years and as far as I can tell he never built the device he was talking about.

It's a bit disapointing though... I thought it was possible to just connect the right NES pin at the right place and voila! Maybe someone did it but there's not really good information about it online, at least I don't think so...

Nope, not easy, you basically have to be a wizard to pull it off and even then no one seems to have documented a complete solution.

Better off jammatizing a Nes and getting a multicart for it.

I'm too tired to dig through that thread but does it seem that they're kind of going backwards on this? Wouldn't a more fruitful line of attack involve using reference carts, such as say... Super Mario Bros. Do the appropriate dumps of the ROMs, then run them through a diff? I believe the PC10 carts had an extra block of memory for some sort of game hints or something. I also can't see Nintendo going through the hassle of programming whole new games from the ground up for what is essentially a modified NES. Point being the extra stuff probably just "hangs" off of the original programming. So as long as you keep that kind of thing in mind, you should be able to spot what differs then work your way through that way. Then you start working your way down through the hardware.

I guess the only catch is the PC10 motherboard has some sort of checksum?

I dunno, someone probably already looked into that. I don't have a PC10 and I'm not in a hurry to get one so....meh. :dunno

People have already basically done that to make playchoice rom boards of games that didn't originally have playchoice versions. However you have to sacrifice a real playchoice rom board every time you do that and there are only so many Playchoice Baseball rom boards still out there to sacrifice.

Which is probably why they've been destroying the PC-10 boards. There aren't any rom boards for them.  :badmood:
