Hi everyone, and thanks for having me here.
I saw a MAME cabinet on the internet a few month ago and became obsessed with having one myself. So here I am!
I knew nothing about woodwork or the inner workings of Arcade Cabinets before I started, but I have my dad help me with assembling the cabinet and I am decent enough with wiring to figure the control panel out.
I just recently stumbled upon this forum and quite like the atmosphere and users here, so I decided to join, had I known about this sooner I would have made a build/project thread and updated it as I went along, but I didn't so I will just sum it up here.
First of; give credit where credit is due, so thanks to Rasmus from Project MAME (
http://www.koenigs.dk/mame/eng/index.htm) as I used his measurements to make the cabinet sides (
http://www.koenigs.dk/mame/model.pdf).
Well, I like Pictures, so I will let them talk for a while:
Making the tow sides nice and flush.
Testing marquee holder, screen (24" BenQ), and CP material.
Measureing the CP, this was annoying, maybe there's a better way to do this?
The new CP and speaker panel.
Plexi, Coin dor.
Repurposing computer power supply for light in the CP, and Coin dor.
Light in the CP.
What a damn mess! I have to do something about this.
Whootttt! Testing.
I am in the middle of painting it right now. I hope to be done with all the painting by the end of the week, and receive my test print of the side art sometime next week.
