Need some help with s video from ATI card to TV.
« on: August 03, 2012, 08:49:12 pm »
Just connected a tv via s video with a PCI ATI Radon 7500

The picture is black and white and continually scrolling.  Any idea's how to fix?

Some more things. The video card is working because it will transmit a VGA signal (I plugged in another monitor to the VGA output)

I have tried S Video on two TV's with various resolutions, all are black and white, and all are scrolling.

I have a crappy S video cord, but I want to rule out other possibilities before I shell out 20 bucks to Radio Shack for a better cable.

I does sound like it may be the cable. I don't remember having to change any settings when I plugged my s video cable in. Amazon has some cheap cables you can try.

I think ATI has some settings in the control panel that may help.  It could be PAL vs NTSC and there may be a setting to fix the vertical scroll, but i can't get the software to work keeps telling me that the driver isn't installed or isn't functioning properly.  So I may have a driver issue after all, perhaps the included software was a mismatch or corrupted.  total headache to this point.

AMD's website says I need Catalyst 6.11 so I downloaded from them but when I try to install it I'm getting "INF Video driver not found error"  I'm about to pull my hair out on this one.
