I watched "The Wild Bunch" a few years ago specifically because I was curious to see him in a more serious movie.  My memories of him (fond ones) was of playing lovable losers in low quality productions.   It was quite interesting to see him in that type of role.

I agree with others that mentioned his Spongebob appearances.  I just love that my kids can laugh at him and Tim Conway without knowing who they were.
