Need robotron.cfg help

I'm a little confused in getting the 2 joystick games configured like robotron.

I have 2 happ super's running into an Ipac.

When I attempt to change the configuration, I see options like left/left, left/up,  left/right (), etc.  I surely don't understand what left/right would mean.

I also do not see any options for the right joystick for firing. In fact, fire is not any available option.

Basically, the left joystick is meant to move your man, and the right one is for shooting in each direction.

Any help is appreciated, or if someone would be kind enough,  could you possibly email me your robotron.cfg file to gdg@cybertron.com

Hi,

I just did this last week for my machine, and here's what I did.

I updated the controlls in the mame config menu just for this game.

Left/Left means Left Controller, move left.

The first instruction means which controller on the Robotron machine, the second means what direction.

For mame, you should be able to leave the Left Joystick as it is.  For the right one set as follows

Right/Up     - R
Right/Down - F
Right/Left    - D
Right/Right  - G

Once I did this this game worked great.

There are some other games that used 2 joy's that you can set up the same way.

It's simple. Here are the different 'buttons':

left/left
left/up
left/right
left/down

right/left
right/up
right/right
right/down

The first word, represents which joystick it is refering to...the left one or the right one.  Get it?

The second word represents which direction it is refering to.  

So left/right, means "Left Joystick, pressing it to the right".  ANd right/down means "Right joystick, pressing it down".
