ed12:
was built for a 29" wg/neotec monitior

u are missing the monitior mounting bracket's
is the wirring there?
is the smps there ?
the control board slide's out
u un-latch it
do u have the bezel ?
do u have the glass ?
the cp will not fit dual gamming that i know of
as these were knock off's of pgavr, and also became itsgamming defacto cab for 7 year's,ie silver strike/go fishing/big buck
the one u want is golden tee 98
it's cp is of the dual type...
once u remove the plexie
u will find the roller ball in a centeral point
to cut around it,put a backer piece of 3/4" ply-wood behind it
and drill the steal slow
and or order a pre punched cp from 1 of our suppiler's
btw where is the topper ?
it is a led display

I just recently purchased a gt fore machine for $325. All works well but the glass is very dirty on the inside and the display looks to be getting fuzzy. I know nothing of arcade restoration or electronics but would like to attempt to make this one better.
Is it easy to just hand a tv on the wall, chop the top and run the a/v cord to the new tv?
If not, how expensive is it to replace the monitor inside and where can i get that?
Is it easy to remove the glass covering the monitor for cleaning?
Thanks,

I've swapped out 2 different 27in tv's in the cabinet. If you decase it, a 27" tube will fit just fine.
I actually used the original monitor mounting bars, but had to fashion some mounting brackets using some flat corner braces like these:

There are a few ways to get a legitimate golden tee board to display on a normal TV tube. Look up neotec and jrok RGB -> TV boards. For this tv, I used sVideo and set the dipswitches on the board to standard resolution. It looks great, and it's a very clear stable picture on my machine.
Med res monitors of that size are expensive, and you can get a similar result using a 27" tube you can pick up for free off craigslist.
The Glass should be very easy to remove for cleaning once you remove the control panel, which slides directly out of the machine.
